![]() Drug Rehabilitation The use, possession, manufacture or distribution of drugs are all illegal acts in the United States. The effects that any one of these has on people are also affecting those of us in today’s society. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration 2001 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse, 15.9 million Americans ages 12 and older (7.1%) reported using an illicit drug in the month before the survey was conducted. That is a ridiculous amount of people who claim to also be mature, responsible adults. These are the people who are surrounding us in the U.S. and possibly even running our country. The main priority, however, should be the prevention and correction of those who use drugs. In two words, drug rehabilitation, it’s advantages and disadvantages. There are several questions surrounding the use of drugs in America. Can it be stopped or prevented? What causes the addictions these people have accrued? Do drug rehabilitation centers work? What are the costs of entering a drug rehabilitation center? What are these illegal drug users costing us? How long does one usually stay in drug rehab? How can we help? These are just a few questions that many of us have, which I hope to help answer. Copyright
